I've been a Beta Tester since the TSU7000 was released. That was the first time Philips had a public Beta.

blaming the beta testers is like shooting the messenger, or the pianist! having said that, however, I can't help agreeing that the "check for database updates" function, for example, is a poor attempt at a joke.

The database itself is a joke. Top selling equipment, like Sony receivers, aren't included even if they have been on the market for 2 years. WTF?

Unfortunately, it's not the only issue. But I will leave it at that...

Just migrated to PEP2 - and I must say: it's not even close to as bad as I feared. After some initial struggling with the script I am working on. I think I could get used to it ;-) (btw. the problems were not PEP2 but my own sloppiness)
It has been mentioned before, but what I really don't understand, is that the single windows are neither resizable nor moveable. From the looks it appears as they would have to be. Else, it is a nice feature to have a ruler in "full screen view", but I'd rather KEEP THE FRIGGIN PROPERTIES ACCESSABLE. As of now, I always have to get back to I-can't-see-a-single-thing-view to get the properties window. From the workflow point of view, I cannot understand this.
Now to something completely different: A I right, that you cannor assign different textcolors for the button-press status? I imported an XCF where the button labels where white if not pressed and blue if pressed. Now I can only select ONE text color.... Or am I missing something here?
Thanks
André

It would be nice to be able to set zoom levels.
But ok, it's in line with the rigid non-resizable design style of the app. :(

Is there anyway to import all of your "learned codes"? When I converted my TSU9600 file it would not import any of them. I gave all of the codes unique names... Thanks. SJ

Did you not move the codes into MyDatabase in PEPV1 prior to loading your config in PEPV2?

Explicit links to My Database codes are seamlessly converted to the new implicit link codes. Therefore step 1 is to convert "non linked My Database" learned codes on the code pages to My Database.

This is done by opening the XCF in PEP1 and:

Make sure all the IR codes in the code pages have ascii names (no symbols)
Do a device--> right click. Save to My Database. Add correct info (brand, type, model)
Open ‘Database quick access’ and re-drag all the codes to the code page
With these codes as a link destination, at the XCF import the codes will be remembered

Add me to those with gripes about the complete lack of window sizing, both for the app itself and for each of its component windows. Why on earth do we only have a choice between windowed at 1024x768 and full screen? And why aren't each of the component windows movable, resizable, dockable, etc. like any other IDE? This is a serious "WTF?" for an app like this, and really leaves me scratching my head....

I work on a laptop (1440x900) and a desktop (1920x1200), and the amount of space the UI wastes in both cases is significant. I wish I could post a screenshot, because it's laughable on the big monitor - the page view and properties view occupy about 1/6 of the screen, with the rest of it wasted on a project overview that fills 2/3 of the upper part of the screen, and building blocks that fill the entire lower half. Considering that the majority of my time is spent in the page and properties view, this is extremely annoying.

Hope this gets fixed in an update soon, as this may be enough to keep me from upgrading...

Hear Hear!

Couldn't agree more.

Perhaps I should have posted this here?

I have seldom commented, but some frustration with PEP2 2 vs PEP1 and Only1 led my to reply. I wanted the Only1 codes in My Database in PEP1. I prefer using PEP1 because of link commands. If you use PEP2 to import Only1 and manage My Database you can transfer the Database to the PEP1 program. on my PC ,XP Pro, in C/Program Files/Common Files you will find Pronto and Pronto2 folders. My Database PEP2 as componentdatabase is in Pronto2. Save a copy of componentdatabase for the Pronto file just to be save, then copy componentdatabase from the Pronto2 folder and paste to the Pronto folder. Now you will have the Only1 library in PEP1. PLEASE BRING BACK THE LINKED COMMANDS!
