Does anyone know if this will be available for MAC?
I still have my old laptop but the MAC is better.

I doubt that you will ever see a version of this software for the MAC. Apple does not have enough marketshare of the desktop market at this time.

You can still run the software with newer macs. You just can't communicate with the Pronto - and it has been said that Apple is keen to sort out the problems there.

Untill they do the old PC will have to do, I still use it to download the TV guide and set timers for my Topfield STB.

Peter,
I had heard the newer macs with the Intel processor, could communicate via usb to the prontoedit software. Is this not true? I do not know alot about the mac's: Not sure about the mode necessary to run the software, etc.

There was someone a few months ago who suggested he could do that but AFAIK we never got a proper confirmation.

But can you download configurations to your 9600?

I've never been able to download nor upload any configuration to/from my Pronto 990 (European version of the US 7500) with Parallels Desktop, the Pronto seems to be well recognized when connected (boeioong sound of USB ...) but when I click "upload" I get a message : "The connected device is not supported by ProntoProEdit NG" !
The only solution that work seamlessly with a Macintel is to install Bootcamp : then your Macintel behaves as a true PC, but you must reboot to commute to Windows … contrarly to Parallels. I use it without any problem with ProntoProEdit.
Any other experiences on are welcomed !

Thanks for the detailed info. FYI, this is the TSU9600 forum, not the NG forum. This is ProntoEdit Professional Forum (PEP) and not ProntoEdit NG or ProntoProEditNG (PENG or PPENG).

I have an Intel Mac Portable. I use bootcamp with Windows XP. I can communicate with the Pronto Pro with the USB 2.0 cable, and download ProntoPro Edit files just fine.

Use VM ware ( [Link: vmware.com]) whith which you can seamlessly up and download your configuration from your Mac without rebooting like with Bootcamp !

FWIW the USB 2.0 problem seems to be fixed withe the 3188 version of Parallels.
