I a relative noob to this so excuse my question if a little basic:

I have a TSU9600 which I use without the radio extender thing as all my equipment is in one room.

I am currently looking at electric blinds and want to go for Slient Gliss. The only challenge with Silent Gliss is that their wall controllers do not receive IR they work using RF.

If I were to buy the RF extender RFX 9400/9600 for the TSU9600 would I then be able to teach or program it with the Silent Gliss codes so that I could control the blinds using the TSU9600?

Thanks.

From what I know Silent Gliss uses Rako Racub modules for their blinds and Rako Control Plates. If this is still valid then you only need the Rako RAVIR interface and you can control the blinds using IR and without the extender. If you buy the extender then you can still the RAVIR or the RAV232 (RS232 interface). If you decide to use RS232 then you will need the Rako RAV232+ not the Rako RAV232. This is because the Pronto does not support the baud rate of the RAV232. Call Rako directly and they will help you more on this.

The RFX9400/9600 are not "RF" extenders. They use WiFi, not plain RF.

The Silentgliss range of Autoglide tracks are available with an IR remote control. The handsets and receivers support three ID codes meaning that three seperate tracks can be controlled independently if needed. The codes are suitable for learning with the Pronto.

Hi,

The RAV232 now comes out the factory set at 9600 BAUD, with the option to set it at 1200 if required. The Pronto Script now enables you to control lights and curtains with a minimum amount of programming, this can be downloaded from the Pronto site or the rakocontrols.com site.

Now theres a smart company (Rako); monitiors the relevant forums and offers advice (I am making a leap of faith here), or gets a query and puts out an answer where it does a lot of good. Thanks Rako, need more like you around
