When I am programming with a rfx9600 and using the power sensing option I can only put ir codes into the conditional programming. Does anyone know if Philips is going to change that with the next software update? Since I am using the serial unit I am controlling equipment with rs-232 and it is a pain to also run emitters just for the times I am using power sensing. You can't even link to ir code pages, which is a pain.

Wow, I was not aware of this limitation. Only IR codes and delays are allowed.
You might want to email prontoteam at philips dot com with this question and see if they would kindly reply here (link this post) or in the Philips FAQ.
I suspect that it may have something to do with a hardware limitation that they must monitor the power sense for the full duration of the sequence. In this case, they might not be able to rechannel another extender connection outside the 2 already in use for IR and for the Power Sense. Still, however, I'd like to see an official response to the reasoning.

Yes, sounds like a significant oversight within the conditional design. RTI allows full IR linking and allows pasting RS-232 codes within the conditional command.
I believe the same with the URC MSC-400 extender.
Sounds like the Pronto team needs to beef this up.

I've sent an email to the team inquiring as to why it was designed this way.
