I have read a few blogs that Windows Media Center can be controlled via tcp/ip two way communication in lieu of an mce ir remote; anyone heard of this?...would it work with the 9600?

I believe PadOne software is used to do this with built-in MCE devices in the 9600. If you can find/discover the protocol, you could write your own ProntoScript activity to do this.
