Finally picked up a 9400 and all I can say is what an awesome device!!

I have three issues that I need help/guidance with:

1) When I hold the hard volume button up/down I would like the volume to increase/decrease. Right now, I have to press the button multiple times to raise or lower the volume. I learned the codes from the original Yamaha remote.

2) I have an old XBOX with XBMC. Of course, I can't find the remote, so I've been using the wired controller to move around. I do have the IR module installed. Is there a site I can d/l the codes or am I stuck buying another remote to learn the codes? (This is my #1 issue because it's my video/mp3 player)

3) This looks like a minor bug more then anything but, when I d/l to the CP the first time everything works and I get the confirmation prompt in Windows. Everytime after that the download will work, confirmation OK, but the screen on the CP says "Downloading Configuration File....." instead of jumping back to the main menu.

1/ You have not learnt the codes correctly. Possibly you are releasing the button too early.

2/ There are codesets for the XBox in the database. I have not tried them, but one of them _should_ work.

Peter, I'll relearn the codes but I'm not sure if that is the problem. Every press on the 9400 makes the vol change once (depending on either Vol +/-). But on the original remote pressing vol +/- loops the key presses. So for example, to raise the vol on the org remote i hold down the Vol +, to raise the vol on the 9400 i need to press the vol + multiple times (each press raise the volume one notch).

DZ, the codes that I've seen are for the 360 and MCE. I found the answer to this one. If anyone is interested the XBMC wiki has a How to for the older pronto's but works fine on the 9400.

Codes consist of two parts - a one off and a repeating part. When you press the button, the one off is sent once and the repeating part is sent as long as the button is pushed. Sounds like you have learnt the one off only. When you learn, keep the button pressed until the Pronto (beeps, I think) and you should have the repeating part learnt as well.

You may need to experiment with different hold times while you learn the volume commands.

You could also have Toggle Bit issues if you have to alternate between Vol+/- to get volume to change repeatedly.
