I cannot discover my RFX9400 from prontoedit professional's Tools/Extender Discovery Tool. The Extender dialog comes up but never finds the RFX9400. I can make a connection to it via http though. I have the settings switch on 3 and the network/stand alone switch on network. I verified that the unit has an IP address (as I can connect via http). I also tried setting the setting switch to 1 and it still cannot find it.

I have updated the firmware and have rebooted the unit. Still no discovery. Anyone have any ideas?

I've never able to get the Extender Discovery Tool to work myself. Haven't spoke with anyone that has. Would be interesting to hear from someone that has gotten it to work. During the beta test I'm pretty sure no one could get it to work. I know I certainly couldn't. That being said, it's simple enough to access a given extender using ones web browser.

Discovery is only useful at one time. During initial installation.

Use the cross-cable, configure the extender using a PC with network card, then drop the extender on the network.

The discover tool is only good for seeing what extenders are in a network and their IDs. I believe that most folks with a home network with more than 1 or 2 devices have topology diagrams with a list of each node, the nodes IP, and the device type. If you have a diagram such as this, the discovery tool really loses its luster.
