OK, another embarrassing newbie question. I’ve created several new buttons in Photoshop, both “released” and “pressed”. The individual images have been saved as .png files (Save for Web –PNG-24). Now how do I get them into the editor? I’ve searched the help files and got nowhere. I can’t but help think this has got to be so simple that a five year could figure it out. Unfortunately, I don’t have a five year old at home anymore.

If you plan on using these buttons for more than your current configuration, you can add them into your gallery:
: Open your gallery [ctrl+L] and make a new category for all your custom buttons.
: You can then click the 'Insert' button in the gallery and browse for the image where Photoshop saved it.
: From there it's reusable and easily accessible.

OR
If you plan on only adding the image into the current configuration, you can add a new panel onto the page, go to 'Appearance' tab and click 'Insert.' Browse for the image where Photoshop saved it.

Also note you can't resize the image in the editor, you have to resize it in Photoshop.

Actually, you would add a BUTTON not a PANEL and add the images from the Appearance tab.

This is the process I've already tried. I've created my new category for my button but when I click on insert I get a screen that has a Select Configuration drop down box at the top (i.e. I need to have an open configuration file) and I can only add already existing buttons that are on a page in the configuration file. There seems to be no way to browse for my new buttons.

It's simpler to not use the Gallery. Just add the images directly to your button using the Appearance tab in Properties.

Done, problem solved!

I agree Peter,

I just wish you could select multiple buttons to import the same image to simultaneously like you can with the URC MX-3000 editor.

The Pronto's system page pass through images and buttons allows for more fexibility that any other touch screen other than AMX and Crestron. I used this system page / source page relationship on the Simplify contest entry to mimic a full blown touch panel with popup pages and a fixed source / activity list.

The 9600 is still my favorite small touch screen remote and the only one that comes with a stylus, allowing for smaller buttons and greater flexibility.
