I have a sanyo tv and cannot control the menu on the actual tv. I have figured out how to remove the channel and volume locks on the remote but cannot remove the menu lock. No matter which function is selected, when I press the menu button it automatically controls the cable box. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. And I apologize ahead if this has been covered, but my browsing through the forums yielded no results. Thanks in advance.

Tell us the setup code you're using and the model number of the Sanyo.

Use the 994 command to assign EFC 00122 to the Menu function.

1) Press TV
2) Hold setup until 2 blinks
3) Enter 994  (2 blinks)
4) Tap (don't hold) Setup
5) Enter 00122
6) Press Menu

Now, in TV mode, the Menu button should control the TV.  You may need to use the same procedure in order to make the OK/Select button work.  In that case, probably EFC 00100 will work.  Here's all the EFCs for Sanyos of that general type:
0    00181
1    00185
2    00183
3    00187
4    00180
5    00184
6    00182
7    00186
8    00053
9    00057
VOL +    00054
VOL -    00058
POWER    00119
CH +    00055
CH -    00059
INPUT    00123
INFO    00052
PIX SHAPE    00106
AUDIO    00247
RESET    00244
CAPTION    00121
SLEEP    00056
RECALL    00249
MUTE    00245
MENU    00122
ENTER    00100
UP    00038
DOWN    00042
LEFT    00250
RIGHT    00246
EXIT    00107
+100    00104
DISCRETE OFF    00134
SYSTEM INFO    00177
DISPLAY PARAMETERS    00175
FACTORY RESET 1    00188
FACTORY RESET 2    00173
VOLUME UP    00136
VOLUME DOWN    00132

I would avoid the Reset functions.
