Hi, New on this forum and need some help.
The ML sound bar has the ability to learn other remotes. When I use the ML learn feature it will learn the command from the Comcast XR2 remote (power, vol, channel) but will also change vol or channel when I push other functions on the remote, ie guide, info, last etc. Bottom line from ML is the xr2 sends a control command along with feature command and it confuses the ML.
Has anyone solved this issue or found a universal remote that will work?

Thanks Rob

The Comcast Xfinity X1 uses the XMP IR protocol, which is notoriously difficult to learn.  It does not employ control commands followed by feature commands, but I doubt there is anything you can do to the ML remote to make it learn the XMP protocol.

Of course any Harmony line of remotes can handle all of your components.  A Sony RM-VLZ620 is much cheaper, and it can shoot the Sony and Xfinity signals out of the box, and can learn the ML signals.

Thanks 3FG,
I will check out the Sony remote.
After posting on the forum I came across an attachment for my IPAD called L5 universal remote. Do you know if it will work with the XR2 and the ML?

Thanks again, Rob

Success, at least for now.
I purchased the Sony remote today and was able to setup for the X1, LM and Sony functions I wanted.
Power on and off is not perfect but will work for now.
Thanks again to 3FG.
Happy Holidays to all.

Would this be why my new Denon X4000 remote cannot control anything on the X1 box? I do have a Harmony One but wanted my wife to have the Denon remote to have full control of my components rather than just use the lame x1 remote.

3FG is better qualified to answer your question than me but I will say yes. (:-)
Until now I have not had any success with OEM universal remotes controlling a "Comcast" cable box. The Sony RM-VLZ620 is very configurable. If it's not listed by a code the Sony can either learn by pointing at the unit until the unit turns off, or you can point the units remote at the Sony remote and teach it, or you can customize individual buttons.
Not bad for $25.
