I need a remote to that can run a macro at a given time a day, every day. Different times/ macros for different days to control various equipment. IR range can easily be solved with a repeater. What SW/ HW do I need? I have an old Palm III kicking around, will that work? Interface does not need to be fancy.

The Omniremote Pro software is what you need.
I used this software along with an ir repeater system where the transmitter attached directly to the pda for along time.
