I can't get any macros in a ccf to run on a 3600. The program has learned every command on 3 diferent remotes and works great. I have tried every variant I can think of but it only executes the first command in the macro.

Does this funtionality work?

thanx -gary-

Should work,
but: do you have an IR extender?
Without it the IR beam on your IPAQ needs to be very precisely directed to the device beeing controlled and needs to be very near. Macros are the first to malfunction when IR is to weak.

I don't have the extender and had this issue in mind when I tested. My problem is that I can't even get a beep as a second item in a macro. That shouldn't have anything to do with the ir piece of it.

thanx for the reply -gary-

Do you have dealys between the seperate IR codes?, if not put some in, if you have, try altering the times.

Post the ccf file somewhere and someone might spot a problem with it

Or e-mail it to me and I'll havwe a look, can't promise anything, I am still trying to get to grips with PDA TV remote and the 5450 myself.

Please give some feedback on this thread if you find out anything new.
I'm very interested in knowing if there is anyway to improve macro performance
thanks

Sometimes it helps to issue 3 identical aliases per command.
Don't do this with toggles, because you can't tell the state if one doesn't hit...
Currently busy experimenting with some added circuitry in my 3950 to add and/or replace the 870 nm diodes for irda by types for the correct wavelength of 940 nm.
Suppose nobody got a diagram of the ipaqs huh?
Sorta groping around now...
Anyroad, just bought a cheap 3970 from Canada to use ïn real life so I can meddle to my heart's content in ole 39050...

Been busy building a new PVR machine running SageTV. I'm very impressed so far.

I played with this again. I wanted to use the beep function in my testing but I can't get beep to work either. I place a button on a device form with a single beep command. The button depresses on the Ipaq but it won't beep.

I figure this would be the easiest way to test a macro by putting delays and beeps to monitor how the macro is proceeding.

Does beep work for you guys?

thanx -gary-

Don't know about beeps, but for me macros work (Ipaq 3800) The only thing is, that discreets need to be sent twice with ca 0,3sec delay in between. All other commands & macros work normally!

Matbe it's only beeps that don't work?

Try a macro: discreet ON, delay, discreet on, delay ,toggle off.
Test this with the device on and then the same with the device off. In both cases you should get the device to be off after the macro. That's how I'm able to say that the macro works for me.

Just FYI, beeps don't work on PDAWin. Don't know what is so difficult about it, but they didn't implement it. Macros do work, but you have to try, which type of alias works, one does, the other does not. (Unfortunately I can't remember because I converted mine a long, long time ago).
