Hello all. Just got an ipaq 3955 and shareware pdawin (to see how well it works). It appears that the alias function does not work and the volume/channel control on hard button (navigation control button) is not functional. I thought perhaps I was an idiot and didn't copy code to the hard buttons... but fortunately I'm not a total nincompoop, and code is present. I've learned the codes on makeshift screen buttons to check if it was learned clean and they work fine... a little jumpy... but functional (and cut/paste did not provide the answer... same outcome... not functional volume/channel control). Tried to contact pdawin to no avail. The CCF files works fine on Ole Faithful (TSU-1000). Just not on pdawin. On a second note, I've started making a graphical interface with a mega-changer. I realize the maximum size of a traditional button can't exceed 240 X 219, however, the buttons I've made are 219 X 219 and don't show up at all on the pda (but do on the emulator). What am I missing here? Totally stoked about the pda but just can't get the darn thing to work 100%. If anyone could lend assistance it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if it would help, I could e-mail the megachanger ccf. No code yet. Just delays. And only about 60 buttons so far. Thanks in advance!

OK,
when using a PDA you have imagine a Pronto PRO!!!!
You're TSU1000 CCF is not 100% compatible.

Follow these steps:
1)If your CCF is for TSU1000 you need to save it as a PRO ccf in either ProntoEdit or Tonto.
2)Once you're there, you need to redo the hard button assigning to work on the PRO (the TSU1000 has other hard buttons. This takes some work but works just perfect(the PDA will use the EXACT same hard buttons as the PRO: NavigatorButton Left=CH- on the Pro, NB Right=Ch+, NB Down = Vol-, NB Up=Vol+, the 4 buttons on your IPAQ will correspond to the 4 hard buttons on the PRO) It worked for me (Ihave TSU2000 and Ipaq 3800)
Now you have 2 more hard buttons than on the TSU1000. Yieeeepieee!

3)Never contact PDAWin as it only is a waste of energy (I'm waiting for an answer since May)
4)a PRO has bigger screen area, so I suppose by doing step 1) you will solve the button-disappearing-problem?

5)in general: once in PRO ccf mode what you see (on the PRO emulator) is what you get (on the PDA).
6)Macros I'm not sure, but probably also resolved with step 1. Let me know if not.
7)If you have RC5 & RC6 codes on your TS1000 chance is that they don't work on your PDA, so first make a copy of your TSU1000 ccf where you "learn" all IR codes from the original remote.
8)So here's the chronology that worked for me:
Take your TSU1000 and re-learn all codes that are RC5&RC6 (TSU1000 learns better than the IPAQ),
Then transform to PRO ccf,
Then do the stuff described above in 1)-6),
Then download to PDA,
Then have fun!
hope you get further with this.

Buxe,

Regarding #3, no kidding. I explained that before I purchased PDAwin, I was awaiting their reply... still nothing. After tinkering with it a little, I figured what was going on. PPC acts much different than a Pronto. Love the hard buttons, but would like buttons even more if they had a continuous "on" like pronto. And I have corrected the disappearing buttons, Thanks. One other question, on the Pro, it is possible to have 255 panels on one device. On PDAwin, I find if I have more than 50 the darn thing acts like "Carrie" and freaks out. It does all types of funky stuff like scrolling to panels that its not suppose to. Have you witness anything like that?

Hey
1) PDAAWin is still a very good software and well worth it's price. Just don't expect customer support. For that you have this forum...
2)look for my thread here and in the Pronto/Marantz forum dated a few month ago. I was the only one with the >49 panels/devices problem.
Solution: you can make >49 devices but only the first 49 devices allow you to scroll between panels within the same device. I solved the problem by placing the multiple paneled devices first and the other ones later. All panels/devices >49 can be accessed through jump commands but NOT on the scroll down menu in the upper right corner. So with some redesigning it's not a to big problem.
3) yep continuous repeat of hard buttons does not work on PDA. But hey, there is a reason why a Pronto is still a full remote while PDA+PDAWin is only a passable alternative. For pure heavy duty remote controlling buy a Remote not a PDA!
