I am looking for a remote that I can hook up to my Mac Mini and control it.

Now sure I could get a ATI Remote Wonder, however it's RF only and I'd prefer to have one that can turn my tv on/off and control other devices if nesecarry.

I plan on running MythTV(an open source Tivo-esque application) on the Mac Mini so I only need the remote to be able to send keyboard commands.

I really like the look of the Harmony 880 and the ProntoPro NG, but I don't know if I could use those somehow to control the Mac. Could I have the Pronto learn a wireless keyboard IR code?

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

First, good luck with MythTV on a Mac.

You can use any IR remote - and you won't be teaching it any IR keyboard codes. You will need a USB IR receiver to connect to the mac and then a driver for it. You'll also need the ability to set up the driver to respond to specific commands. Those commands can then be anything you want from the IR remote.

I don't know of any USB IR receivers off hand with Mac OS X support unfortunately. That is, any that let you use your own remote. If you want an IR remote that you can't use for anything else, then you can get a Keyspan IR remote or even one from Elgato.

Here's something interesting I found though. Don't know how robust their support is for the remote though:

If you want to get your hands busy writing code yourself then http://lirc.org is the first place to start.

At this time, Remote Wonder for the Mac is your best option for control of the computer alone. You also have three choices of handset. Original, RW2 and RWPlus (support for this one is coming in a brand new release of the software very soon - with plenty of new features).
