iPod Touch Built Right in to a Standard Telephone
Savant's stylized Telephony Solution handsets are fully integrated into home control system.

Savant Systems, which builds pricey home automation systems based on an all-Apple ecosystem, is coming out with a telephone system with an embedded iPod Touch.

The unit integrates with the company’s own iPBX Server to incorporate full telephony capabilities into a house-wide network of automated lights, thermostats, door locks, fountains … the usual.

Like most higher-end phone systems, the unit offers auto answer, do not disturb, call waiting, routing and hunt groups, voicemail, multi-line hunting, suspend and resume, call hold, and more.

One dealer who saw the prototype said, “It is so Apple-esque. … I was goo goo, ga ga over it.”

More details and a video demo here.
