Aside from car audio area, there were plenty of awesome automobiles on display in the A/V sections of CES 2011.Cool electronics and cool cars - they often go hand in hand. Call it a guy thing. Especially when talking about high-performance audio electronics, the products and specialty publications that cover them are often used analogously, with consumers empathizing that they'd love to be able to afford such aspirational gear but settling to gawk over it or, if they're fortunate enough, enjoy some demos.
At this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, there was an area devoted to car audio tech innovations, but also many cool rides scattered about the other areas of the show floor -- including the A/V areas that were more of what we covered.
Plus I couldn't help but snap a photo of a sweet green Lamborghini in one of the hotel garages I walked through, kind of spurring the idea to showcase some of the cars on display at CES.
They ranged from roadsters to SUVs to movie vehicles, with tech from manufacturers such as speaker companies, energy proponents and display manufacturers. So we hope you enjoy this road trip through the convergence of cool cars and cool tech.
