Ways to Mount a Flat-Panel TV

A look back at some TV mount installation creativity.

Sometimes hanging a flat-panel TV can be a challenge. And that's part of the fun being a CE pro or a DIYer, like getting an unusual request to conceal a video wall in the ceiling and have it drop down at the press of a button or tackling your own innovative rig.

CE Pro and Chief are looking for more interesting/challenging flat-panel mounting jobs in the second annual Mount This! contest.

In the meantime, we thought we'd revisit last year's contest as a challenge to you to blow last year's contest out of the water.



You deserve to win an award anytime you can hide a video wall in a ceiling … and have it drop down at the press of a button to create a floating wall of TVs.

The client wanted to make sure his TVs didn’t interfere with the large windows (covered by blackout shades in the photo). Digital Interiors used Electro Kinetics lifts to make it happen. A big challenge was making sure the ceiling could hold the weight of the TVs.
