As we prepare to roll out our annual Home of the Year Award winners next week, we're taking a look back at favorites from 2009.May always marks the Electronic House annual Home of the Year Awards unveiling. But before we get to that next week, we wanted to give you a look back at some of our favorites from last year, so we’re rounding them up for the end of April.
Today we’re taking a look at the Best Home Theaters in the $25,000 to $50,000 category. This is where we start to see some step up into the designs, acoustical treatments, higher-performance products and other details.
We’re also including some runners-up, because we could only award three theaters but plenty of others deserve recognition.
Gold WinnerA 7.1 B&K-fueled surround system and JVC projector/Da-Lite screen combo serve up the hours of daily entertainment in this theater, with help from goodies like Xbox and Wii gaming consoles, a Blu-ray player, a Vudu on-demand movie server, and more.
Silver WinnerThis “attic” space houses an entire and inviting-looking home theater, starring a 92-inch Draper screen and controlled by a Universal MX-3000 remote control. Systems design and installation by Cyber Home Networks of Stormville, N.Y.
