The Greenest Home Installs

Energy-efficient homes and a solar-powered home theater top these installs.

We know, we're all upset. "Avatar" came out today and it's not in 3D. Guess we won't be seeing the Na'vi fight for Pandora in 3D at home any time soon.

But since it's Earth Day, we want to honor those who are fighting for our own planet - by being green.

While some consumers are apt to purchase green products, we've rounded up those who have gone beyond. We collected some of our favorite green install. Kudos to these installers and homeowners for trying to do their part.



Talking Home Saves Energy
This is one of the cooler green home installations we’ve seen. The home features a control system that provides security alerts in a woman’s voice and can be controlled by voice commands. There are solar panels on the roof. Lights come on and turn off automatically. Blinds shut when it’s time to cool the home. And there are efficient compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) throughout.
