The iPhone keeps us occupied in waiting rooms, entertained while riding the bus and provide content during long-winded lectures.
And there’s an app for every type of iPhone user, including those who want to add extra layers of convenience to their homes.
We’ve compiled some of the most interesting apps designed to help you achieve complete control over your home. There are pictures of 15 apps and information about many more.
Cheaper TouchscreenAt $500-plus, home control touchscreens are tough to afford. It’s one of the reasons many manufacturers have added the iPhone as a supplementary remote. Virtually all major home automation, lighting control and multiroom audio brands, including Crestron (right), Savant and many others, have an iPhone app so your clients can control their home from the couch or the office.
Armed and ReadySecurity system manufacturers have started to offer apps (usually free) that can arm or disarm systems from the iPhone. Many apps also send instant alerts (sometimes with video attached) directly to mobile devices and allow you to review changes, like a tripped sensor.
