Concealed TVs Highlight Successful Home Project

Artwork, frames and lifts keep the decor clean in this Illinois home.

If you’re seeking out ways to hide the TVs in your home, check out this Illinois residence. One of the homeowners’ main requests was to have the displays out of the way, hidden or just plain not cluttering up the decor - Naperville-based Architectural Audio and Video accomplished that in a number of ways.

“The homeowners of this project wanted performance and functionality without sacrificing aesthetics. Since we were involved with this project from the beginning we were able to conceal the TVs by locating them behind custom artwork, covering them with picture frames, or hanging them on the wall,” says AAV’s Matt Koppin.



That includes a plasma that hides behind a Vutec ArtScreen in the family room (pictured), another display that pops up from a motorized lift in the study and other wall-mounted displays that take up little real estate with their mounted placement above fireplaces.

Of course, AAV was hired to do more than just conceal TVs. The installation team incorporated whole-home controls from Control4 to operate lighting control, A/V, security and more, with everything wired back to a centralized equipment location.
