Our roundup of sci-fi theaters features a hellish home theater from a mad scientist, a $70,000 Stargate Atlantis theater, an award-winning Matrix theater, several Star Wars-themed theaters and more.

Here are our favorite sci-fi home theaters of all time.



Stargate Atlantis
Sci-fi geek Jacob Yarmuth spent $70,000 on this Stargate home theater, which features a replica Stargate from the popular TV series. The Stargate surrounds a 10-foot diagonal circular screen that shows a 96-inch diagonal image. The circle within the Stargate can also light up blue.

Creature Feature
We love this theater for the animatronics. There’s an Alien automated with hydraulics and an air compressor. There also are full-sized caged
homages to the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Predator, a Robbie the Robot, and creatures coming from both the couch and the ceiling. It looks like the ultimate sci-fi wonderland.
