0x009C is the hexadecimal representation of the decimal nnumber 156 (9*16 +12).  It does not contain enough information to describe a IR signal.  The second representation is usually called Pronto Hex, and it is well understood.

If you have additional information beyond 0x009C, post it here, and we may be able to convert it.

# this config file was automatically generated
# using lirc-0.8.2(samsung) on Sat Dec 22 08:38:51 2007

KEY_OK 0x70028
KEY_RIGHT 0x7004f
KEY_LEFT 0x70050
KEY_UP 0x70052
KEY_DOWN 0x70051

### Standard generic desktop report, type 3
KEY_POWER 0x10001

that's just a portion... so what i need is the "PRONTO HEX" (thanks for the name) of those Hex numbers right?... i read that you can convert them... any idea? or am i looking at this the wrong way?
