i have a web site and i wanted to have a couple of pages just listing my collection of karaoke songs and at the top a search box so you could type in the artist and it would do a search of just that page and highlight those searched words. or if no results it would say sorry not found, being a cheap skate i would like some thing that is free.

my idea is to print on my karaoke books the QR code so anyone with a smart phone can scan it and it would go to my web pages with karaoke content and then they could search to see if i had the song they wanted to sing or just to browse my collection.

as its a googlesites site i am limited with what i can do.

any tips or help would be appreciated

Well, all browsers have that kinda thing built-in already... and I imagine something like that could be written in JavaScript... but honestly I've never seen a page that used it.

I think you are over thinking this. A nice alphabetized list is the best way to go. If i get to your site and i want to find Nirvana i just click the N and scroll until i find them.
