Hi all,
I need help with a question. If my dog ate the remote and I wish to buy a universal remote, can that universal remote be programmed without the old remote?? The remote belonged to my new Pioneer DVD player (formerly termed as, Pioneer DV-610AVE PAL Multiformat DVD, SACD Player with HDMI and USB Host) Has anyone any knowledge of programming a universal remote without the old remote??

Please help,
Maritha

yes you can most have code libraries , its all in the instructions of the remotes , the better Universal remotes tend to have better and more comprehensive libraries a fairly simple one for all would do just your DVD players main functions , if you want every feature of the remote other than just the transport controls you may need a better universal remote or if the dog ate it and you only wanted a remote for the player and nothing else just buy a spare pioneer remote from a dealer

Yes your new remote will function as your old one but keep it away from dog.

Do you mean if I can find the same remote it would work with the DVD player or do you mean that if I buy a universal remote, I will be able to program it to work with the Pioneer DVD Player? I do not understand how to program a universal remote without the original remote? Is this done by some kind of numerical code or do you use the lazer coming out of the Pioneer remote to program the universal remote? I don't wish to go out and buy a Universal remote only to find out I cannot program it to work with my DVD player?

Try this for a original replacement.

Instead of asking me why my price is high ask the other guys why they are low.

Can't you just press on the dog in different areas to get it to work?
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

Just buy a cheap harmony remote. It will be easy for you to set up.

Don't forget to point the dog at the TV while pressing.

Would she have to do that if it were Crestron?
