Okay, I restarted my computer and left the normal stuff running in the back ground. This computer is about 2 years old.
CPU = Intel C2D 2.53 GHz
RAM 3GB (actually 4gb, but running Vista Ultimate 32-bit)

I did two things, created a quick project in Prodigy Composer. I then took and didn't change anything just resaved and built the project in SB. The speeds were much quicker on this desktop than on the Crestron Dell Laptop

Composer to SB = right at 10 minutes
Build in SB = 6 min 17 seconds

Here's a link to the Composer folder (zipped):

And here's link the the SB archive:

Hopefully this works and we can get some comparisons.

I had to update crestron software to be able to open the file. I updated/restarted/imported archive and clicked Build System/Clicked OK when warned that the system was already built. Here are the results.

iMac - 3 Minutes 15 Seconds
Lenovo - 3 Minutes 21 Seconds

Adding.. i ran both again and they were within seconds of the original build times posted above.

Mine actually took 4 min 30 seconds the first time just to open SB. After restarting computer, opened in 1 Min 50 seconds.

HOwever, what I'm really interested in is the Conversion time from Composer to SB and the Build time in SB.

Since Stamps was 3 and 2 times faster. That's really a lot of time if you have to build 4 or 5 times before you leave.

Sorry :). I am not home so can't run it (didn't bring SB on my laptop). I will run on both systems and report tomorrow.

I just timed the SB portion and it was 6 minutes and 38 seconds on my desktop core i7 system! Hard to imagine how stamp is getting those faster times.

I am running SB 3.09.31. What version are you running Stamp?

BTW, SB itself opened with the program fully loaded in about 45 seconds. I say "about" because it asked me to dismiss a dialog once it opened.

How do I convert Composer to SB? I am not a composer user :).

20 seconds to open the the test program from sofa.

3 minutes 33 seconds to compile the file.

Lenovo w500

System Builder 3.09.31

55 seconds for system builder to open.

38 seconds to open the the test program from sofa.

Just confirming. What step do you go through to "compile" the file? I tell SB to "Build System" in the Finish tab. Is that what you are doing?

BTW, my 45 seconds included loading the file. SB by itself opens in 27 seconds.

Yes. I have compiled over and over on both machines with similar results each time.

The imac is a clean install of win7 64 ultimate and the lenovo is a lenovo oem install of vista pro.

That's a mystery then. How about upgrading to the latest version I have? Can't imagine it slowing things down but would be nice to know that one variable is out of the way.
