I'm hoping someone here has an answer for my problem. I have a component that has no remote capability- no built-in IR receiver. Just a power button. It's either on or off. I would like to use my MX-900 to turn it on/off. To do this I would need an IR controlled power switch, but when I search most are RF or don't look like they would work. Has anyone found a solution for this problem? Or any other ideas?

Are you looking for an IR controlled switch like a wall switch?
If so, Lutron makes one. Google "Lutron Maestro IR".

Here is what I am using, but they will be very hard to find since they are not made any more:
Insteon 2411R IR Receiver Insteon 2457D2 Plugin Dimmer Switch
I got one on ebay and another at orchestratedhome.com last August. Looks like they are sold out now.
I have the codes in an MX-890 and can control a light perfectly. I'm sure the dimmer can be used for simple on/off. Maybe you can find these new or used with a little luck.

Use a X10 IR Command Center Model No. IR543 and a X10 module that fits your needs.
You can get the IR543 on ebay for ~$15. I have one to control a light in the HT. I use RF, but the IR543 is IR controlled.
