I have used MX-500 remotes in the past, and have had 3, along with the IR-Clone reverse engineered device to program the MX-500’s. In the last 10 years, I have used Logitech remotes for Living room and bedroom TV setups, but these have always required compromises with the setup…….IR/RF required due to components in cabinets…..and now I find that Logitech has discontinued its Harmony line recently.
I figured I would look at what is out there and have always like URC and they way they have supported and servcied their MX-500.
I came upon the MX-990 and it seems to do most of what I want, along with the base station.
I am a bit compulsive and usually make tweaks to my setup frequently on my own, (very frequent over the first 6 months and then less frequent over years), and do not like the idea of having to call in a programmer every time I change components or upgrade my system.
I see on this forum that many of you have gotten a hold of the programming software, but I have filled out the sales form and the company that called me, said that nobody anywhere anymore gets the software.
Are there any of their consumer remotes that would work IR/RF instead?
Anyone recommend a similar functioning remote to the MX-990 that allows user programming and/or tweaking?
Is there any way to get a list of regional dealers to see if I can buy the remote and pay for initial setup……and get the dealer to include the software for future tweaks and adjustments?

keep calling around. dealers are allowed to give out the CCP software that you'll need to program the mx990. anyone telling you otherwise is uninformed or lying to you.
