I bought a new AV RCVR and it has a IR input connection on the back. I assume I can use an IR cable connected from the base station to the IR input instead of the using the sensors that stick the IR sensor (and never come off) on the front of the panel?
And the programming is the same- assign the rcvr to the base station port?
TIA!

Should work what brand? On a rare occasion the jack will be a stereo jack and you have to rig the pin-out, but it’s usually mono like the basestation IR output.

sometimes those jacks are proprietary links that connect same branded equipment to each other.
assuming it is an ir input, then the codes will be the same as if you were using an emitter on the face of the unit.
