I just purchased a used MX-890 which came with programming installed. I would like to copy this programming to CCP to use a a template for my new programming. When I go to communications/get from remote and select MX-980, I get an error message telling me "uploaded error, cannot connect".
Is there a way to get around this issue? I do not know if the existing programming was installed using CCP or the older software.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Try choosing MX890. Not MX980. If the MX890 doesn't show up as an option, you may have an old version of CCP that can't be updated.

I had a similar issue . . . It appears that some remotes programmed either in much older versions, or with the standalone ediitors have programming that is incompatible with current CCP. They would seem to upload fine, hut then throw that error. Once a nee config was written, they ipload fine, so jothing wrong with comm or setip. Seen it both way for the same model, again, depending on what last programmed it.
And yes, it sucks . . .
