I have an mx-950 that communicates with an msc-400. It has worked for years. Today it stopped sending commands even though everything on the remote appears to be working. If I connect the 950 to my programming pc and test the remote, it works. If I press the corresponding button on the remote it doesn't work. I've tried factory resets and redownloading the program file but still the same.
I'm sure nobody has ever had this experience but hopefully someone can save me from spending hundreds of dollars replacing the remote. Oh, and the battery is fully charged.

When the IR goes out on URC remotes the rF doesn't work either anymore. Do you get a failed IR error when powering up the remote or inserting the battery?

It seems to pass when powered up.

Sounds like a communication issue between the remote and the MSC-400. Check the RF antenna connected to the base station. If the second red light has any glow at all, move it until only the power light is lit.
Put the remote in IR mode for the devices, does it control the equipment when pointing at the equipment and not connected to the PC?
