I just updated my MX-900 Beta Editor and I get the following error when I try to open it up after updating, closing the program, and then opening it back up again.

"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application."

The only way to get it to open is to do an uninstall and reinstall from a previous version. Anyone else that has the MX-900 beta software experiencing this error?

Anyone no if URC is aware of it yet? I'll send them an email unless someone has already taken care of it.

They're aware, but go ahead and email them anyway.

Once the BETA version has been unsucessfully updated you will have to uninstall and reinstall the editor.

The regular version updates just fine. This thread refers only to the BETA version.

I'm probably overly cautious. but I have not yet updated my MX900 editor for this reason. I can't recall so many glitches in editor software as with this remote. It has also given me slightly less confidence in the 900 than the 850, so I still go to the 850 for most clients.

One of these days I will make the effort. The editor I have just works and that's what I need.

Dear Tom,

They are describing BETA software, not release software to installers.

Dear Beta Testers,

Because of confusion like this from installers, I would prefer that you discuss Beta problems with URC staff directly, not by publicly posting on remote central.

Best Regards,

-Eric

Tom, Absolutely update your 900 editor if you haven't in a while. There have been some fixes recently that are well worth the update. I've found no problems with the latest update and have programmed a bunch of remotes in the field with great results.

Sorry for the confusion. Eric is right this is really no place to discuss BETA issues. Hasn't happened before and I'm sure it won't happen again.

It's really my fault. I'm the one who originated the post so if anyone wants to point fingers point them at me. I will refrain from posting any BETA issues on this forum in the future.

I did not intend to create confusion but posted here knowing that I would get a timely response. I apologize for the confusing.

What was the issue with the buttons that only triggered half the time? Was that beta software or was that a batch of remotes that were flaky? Is that problem over and done?

Thanks!

Still use a lot of 850s and 900s!

This is one good reason to update your 900 editor. The issue you are referring to was fixed in a Live Update. It was not a batch of bad remotes, nor was it a beta issue, it was a firmware fix. I haven't heard a complaint on the 900 in quite a while.

If anyone complains of this issue, all they need to do is update the editor, upload the remote, then download the remote. The old file will be loaded, the new firmware will be loaded and everything will work perfectly.

Mitch:

If you have questions on beta issues, you can always email the URC staff contacts you have, they usually reply quickly. I am always willing to reply to emails too, and Mike probably wouldn't mind either. Most of us discuss things via email if we have beta questions and are glad to help each other out.

Thanks Eric. I will be sure to do that in the future.
