I have the MX-850 editor software with the live update feature. Also I've been testing this and the least available direct from URC without the live update, and I'm doing this in a VM.
With Windows XP , the Live Update version works and is able to update to the lastesrt software and code.
With Windows 7 (32bit) it does not complete the live update successfully. It takes a while "checking the local patch info file" and then errors out with "Failed to Download the Patch Info File".
Has anyone been able to get the mx-850 editor with live update to work on windows 7? I am able to use it to download my config to my MX850, it just refuses to do the live update. I've tried turning off Win7's built in firewall as well

From the Start menu go to the MX-850 editor icon but right-click it instead and select Run as Administrator. You'll get a warning so select yes and then you should be able to do a live update.

Thanks Jason, I did have to do that to make it work, but that wasn't my main problem. Turns out I had a socks proxy setup for internet explorer, and I didn't realize that MX Editor was using the same settings to try to download files. So, I didn't have VPN running and it could not connect. Got rid of the socks setting and it works now. How embarrassing. :-)
