I have had a 810 for a while and find it very easy to program. A friend got a MX-850 for a present and ask me to program it for him. I have the software but its a bit different from what I am use to.

The 810 has "Devices" & "Activities" - What is the equivalent of Activities on the 850? I have put in all the Devices (Except Roku NetPlayer) that he has - now I need to do the Activities (Push button- turns on TV, Turns on A/V, Switches HDMI port, Turns on DVD player - and so on .

I downloaded the 850 manual & read it, but I guess since my head is so use to the 810 that the flow of the 850 doesn't make scene to me.

Any help on getting my head screwed on differently?

Activities are " Macro's " in the 850

On the "Main" screen I have 4 items. When I press the "DVD" button the screen changes to the DVD screen & becomes the remote for the DVD. On my 810 the "Macro's" are activated by the "Activities" button, where on the 850 is this?

MX-810:
Press watch DVD - Units are turned on/off - A/V switches, remote turns into DVD remote. If for some reason I want to turn the remote into a cable remote I just press "Devices" / "Cable", and no macro's are executed.

MX-850
Press DVD - remote turns into DVD remote. Where/when are the macro's ? If I press the "Main / "Cable" while I am watching a dvd are the "Cable" macro's executed?

The MX810 did, in fact, build a macro, you just cannot see it as such.

In your MX850, select the DVD bitton, then select the macro tool. Build a macro on that DVD button on your main page that will do all the things you want your devices to do, then jump to become a DVD remote in the last step of your macro.
