Haven't done an mx3000 in a few months. went back to an old customer to do an update, and can't connect to the remote.

Running XP, when I connect the remote i get the "beep" confirming the detection and a windows pop-up asking me to install the driver for a "usb device" If i follow through it fails to install

active sync is installed and i even uninstalled and reinstalled. tried all 4 usb ports on the laptop

any ideas?

Try manually installing the USB driver via Device Manager.
