I am programming my first 880. Hundreds of 800-850-900's etc.

After some initial stumbling through CCP I made some good progress. I created my initial macro on the on button and went to copy that macro to the other activity button so I can then adjust the receiver codes and page jumps. To my suprise it deleted the button image. No problem I will just go in and add the button image back. NOPE! Every time I click on anything in the programming tab the system freezes and closes! I cant make changes and now the remote wont upload.

I am giving URC a chance on starter level remotes again for the first time in a while but if this kind of crap continues I cant afford to be their guinea pig. This is (and the 810 reconfirmed my decision) the reason I left URC in the first place but many comments lately about URC being product of the year made me want to look at it again.

Any ideas whats going on?

When you say other activity button, I assume "dvd, sat" etc. is where you want to copy the "on" macro?

I've done only one 880 and that was replacing a 900, so I just imported the 900 file and added images to the watch/learn pages and I was done.

Assuming I'm correct, I just tried to recreate your scenario and I couldn't.
I made an "on" macro, then in the macro window I right clicked and copied.

I then went to the DVD button on the watch page went to the macro window, right clicked, hit paste and the macro showed up and I still had my DVD icon.

CCP has been pretty rock solid for me. Had to figure how to get CCP to recognize a 900 file when trying to upload to an 880. But that took maybe 15min.

The file was corrupted. Luckily I had recently uploaded to the remote. I was able to DL the software on another laptop and download the file. Weird though cause I couldnt download from the remote on my laptop after the file started crashing.

More info: After I copied the ON button and pasted to a device "activity" it actually completely removed the button.

That is childs play. URC needs to fix this stuff if they wanna play with the big boys. I dont have time for petty issues.

Not to mention about every 5th download would fail on either computer and I would have to close the program and restart it or at least resend the download.

It is sad to see something come so close to great and fail at the little things.

Not sure why you are having so many issues. Have you contacted URC support for assistance. We do quite a few 880/980 and don't seem to have the issues you are facing. We also have had great success with the 5000 and 6000.
