After I downloaded what I thought was the latest verison (1.76) I can't get live update Why? I entered my serial # what's wrong

You can't get the live update version by registering anymore. That is the responsibility of the dealer you bought from.
Contact the dealer you bought from and ask for the software.

According to the history, the app that can be downloaded is current at version 1.20.154, the IR database isn't at it's 1.76 and the latest is 1.78. Don't know what's different about the IR database. [Link: universalremote.com]
