I have a project that consists of a main house and a guest house. The main house has 2 rooms with Yamaha YSP-1100 sound bars with each room controlled by a MX-900 running through a MRF-350. The Master Suite and Guest House also have YSP sound projectors controlled by MX-900's running through MRF-260's..

The 2 rooms running through the MRF-350's work perfectly... The 2 rooms running through MRF-260's either don't control the YSP's at all or very sporadically at best, all other gear (DTV, Sharp LCD) works perfectly. When running the IR directly from the MX-900 remote the Yamahas work perfectly. Somehow when running the Yamaha's RF only through the MRF-260 the IR codes or something are getting lost or garbled enough that the Yamaha's do not consistently respond.

Has anyone else seen this with Yamaha gear or have any ideas??

First, how many MRF260's and MRF350's are in this system? I see a lot of plural references. When the MRF260 were set up, were they initially positioned in ID0 (zero) and no RF interference detected? Were the ID's set to something other than ID0 once the MRF260(s) were positioned?

2 350's, 2 260's all in the same system.. I have been doing this long enough to know all of the URC nuances as well as basic things like setting them all to different ID's and checking for interference. All other devices (Sharp LCD's, DTV dvr's, Sony DVD's) work perfectly fine.. The 2 350's work perfectly, the Yamaha YSP's do not work with MRF-260's in RF mode but work fine in IR mode from the remote. Obviously there is some interaction going on that when the Yamaha codes are being transmitted from the remote to the base station the Yamaha codes are somehow being affected.

Are you using the ir in port on the YSP?

I did a system with a YSP, mx350, mrf260, and to get consistant operation I had to connect the YSP to an adjustable port on the 260 and play with the level.

It was a while ago so I don't remeber the YSP model.

Mr. Obvious said make sure the blaster is off on the 260.

Used the direct jack in 1st and have played with output level, have tried emitter on front and have played with level.. MRF-260 is in a cabinet, Yamaha YSP is mounted on the wall under the TV so the blaster wouldn't have any effect plus I always turn it off any way, no point in IR routing if you are shooting it all over the cabinet. Every other device I have ever used with the 260 has worked perfectly. The only 2 YSP's I have used both have issues and I would not say are working in a reliable manner in any way.

As much as it bugs me not to figure out the problem... Sometimes I just say WTF.

Scince the 350 is working fine, swap out the 260, get paid and don't look back.
