I have a pro installer helping me with a MX-3000. I have an Onkyo 876 receiver and we are trying to set up macros to direct tune radio stations. In the main zone it works fine. The problem is getting the stations to change in zones 2 or 3 without first changing the source to tuner in the main zone. Any ideas? Thanks.

Most AVRs are built this way. As I recalled, Marantz SR9600 is only receiver does have dual tuner capability; then you are able do direct tuning.

How many stations are there in your listening area that you can absorb to? 3 or 4 MX3000 screens do not have screen space to hold your favorite stations?

I must be missing something here... Why do you have to change any source as part of your preset macro? Even though it is a "one zone" tuner and you are listening to it in the second zone, shouldn't you be able to alias to individual numbers/direct tune command for zone 1 in your macro without re-selecting Zone 1's TUNER INPUT command? I'm more familiar w/ the X00X series receivers..

Why not copy your zone 1 presets into zone 2,3,4, seperately. Unless you can listen to 2 different stations at once in different zones, its the same thing. Zone 2,3,4, tuner command, then jump to pre-sets, but copy them in seperate zones. The only difference is volume control for each zone. I have about 20 to 30 presets in a 980 that work in different zones this way with a Denon reciever. I cannot listen to different stations in different zones however. Maybe I am missing the complicated part or have no idea what I'm talking about.
Instead of asking me why my price is high ask the other guys why they are low.

With Onkyo and Integra, you cannot issue a Tuner command for zone1, when listening to zone 2. You must use commands 586 for tuner presets for z2, and 781 for tuner presets for z1.

You cannot cut and paste your macros from z1 to z2 because they use different commands.
