Using Direct TV Sat box... I am watching something and a commercial or something just is too loud or soft. I press the volume expecting it to ramp up or down. I release the volume button and press it again and then I get a reaction.

Am I doing something Wrong?

Why it takes about 3 to five seconds for the vol to go up or down?

Do I have to tweak it in the editor?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ethiel

Yes, you have to tweak it in the editor. Go to the actual volume up and down codes in the macro window at the bottom of the editor screen. Double click on one and make sure "Repeat while button is pressed" is checked. Repeat for the second code and you're good to go.

When you initially press the volume up or down button is the MX-3000 off at this point? On older MX-3000's I believe the remote must be on for a hard button to function. I had an older one where this was the case. It was replaced with a newer one and I can now hit a hard button while the remote is off and it will function immediately. My older MX-3000 was manufactured in 2004 while the newer one was manufactured in 2007.

When the remote is off have you tried pushing a hard button and holding it down for just a bit. I do this all the time with the mute button when one of those loud annoying commercials comes on. I'm always able to mute my system while the remote is off and sitting on my table by reaching over to it and holding down the mute button for a slightly longer period than a brief tap.

You gotta wake it up first.

Actually, no you don't. When it's off I just push a hard button and hold it down a bit and the appropriate signal is sent. As I stated earlier, my MX-3000 was manufactured in 2007. The one I had manufactured in 2004 didn't really exhibit this behavior although it did do it for some of the hard buttons (a small number) but not all of them.
