I'm looking for the DirecTV HR20-700 codes. If you have them, I would really appreciate it if you could e-mail them to me at: damondg at proremotes.com

Thank you,
Damon DG

Damon, use the codes from an R-15.

That's not a good solution, as the some keys have double meanings on the OEM remote.

I have not had a problem with the MX-3000 remotes I have programmed using these codes.

And do you actually use an HR20 and even know about the dual use functions?

Hello - I'm new to the forum and my dealer gave me this web site for help in finding the 3 digit code for programming my MX-900 to the new DIRECTV HR20-700. I still have the program saved when I bought this remote about 3 months ago so I guess it is still good since URC will no longer let us do a live update. Also, if I simply type in the 3 digit code in the space provided, will the programming accept it. Thanks in advance for your help.

The URC's don't use 3-digit codes. You get to select your devices by type and name. Much nicer all and all, except that URC hasn't added support for the HR20-700. There are some older models in the device database that are close, and you always have the option to learn the codes. That is except for the dual-use codes I alluded to earlier.

Who was your dealer, btw?

MX Editors DO use 3-digit codes. Rather than selecting a brand and model, you can type the code in.

True, but it's not like a dumb remote where you can only enter codes and there's only a cross reference which suggests 18 different codes for your manufacturer.

You can just select the H20 or any of the other [DIRECTV 1] code sets. That's a lot clearer IMO.

The problem is that they don't work completely and if you own 2 HR20's there's another codeset that isn't even in the database.

Jon,

No problem. I just didn't want anyone to be confused when they saw the 3-digit code after you said the remotes do not use them. Dumb remote or not, it is still an option that's there. Just wanted to clarify. :)

Thank you,
Damon DG

Oh, no problem. Honestly I'd forgotten about the codes. The only thing I ever use them for is to tell if one device is the same codeset as another, when looking for a match.

It just hit me as odd that the guys dealer told him to ask for a 3-digit code, as opposed to telling him to check other DirecTv codes, or ask on the forum for a ready made device.
