My remote seems to have a ghost in it... At odd times, the MX3000 simply wakes up and a couple of the buttons start to indicate that they have been pushed... Specifically, I have the MX 3000 controlling the lights in my master bedroom... At 4AM this morning, my wife woke up to all the lights in our room were on.... She turned them off via the MX 3000.... A couple of minutes later, she noticed that the the MX 3000 woke itself up (no body touched it) and Scence 4 on the light menu indicated that it was being pushed and the lights came back on... Again, nobody touched the remote in anyway... A similar thing happened a week or so ago.... at that point, I reset the remote back to factory defaults and re-downloaded the program.... However, it is obviously not fixed.... I Now, I would like to believe in the ghost theory, however, I am a reasonable man and am wondering if it could be a battery issue that is screwing up the program.. (BTW, the program had been working fine for more than a year and a half prior to this... ) Thoughts? Or should I get a priest to do and exorcism... Before you answer, I am quite aware to the sweet irony of my screen name... However, I am not a devil worshiper! :-)

I don't think intermittent battery contacts could be an issue, but maybe clean the contacts on the battery and remote with alcohol? I take it your lights are all assigned to touch buttons not hard buttons correct?

Agreed. Something else could be on the same channel. The ghost could've made his own MX program and accidentally put it on the same channel that yours is on.
You're welcome.

I could see that if just were the lights coming on... but that would not make the mx-3000 wake up would it? Wouldn't that require the MX-3000 to have 2 way communication?

I would think it would have to be a contact issue on the screen. A repeated "press" signal on the screen itself I think would be the only thing that could wake up the remote and then proceed to press a button.

I wonder what would happen if you moved the button to a different area on the screen.

Here is the weird thing though... My MX 3000 wakes up (at odd times... No pattern)... The light on the remote and the screen come on... And the same area of the remote screen (bottom right area) seems to be pushed (the button will press down on the screen)... If it is on the light page, it will push scene 4... If it is on the channel button it will go to HBO... both buttons on in the same area.... I don't thing it is a signal thing because the MX 3000 is a one way, not two way... So, it shouldn't be getting signal to the MX 3000... I thought is might be a battery issue... Wondering if the battery is going....

Agreed... It wouldn't make it wake up... I am sure if I move the button, it would solve the immediate problem... However, it happens on every screen in that same area.... And I don't get the waking up thing.... I thought it might be the sleep timer... I took that off and it still does it...

Not sure if this helps, but is your automatic pickup off? Maybe the ghost bumps it and it wakes up :)... SJ
