Are there any discrete codes for a denon avr-588 video select? or will I have to just use a toggle between them. I am trying to make the system flawless. When the radio is on the DVD plays video and now they would like to have the Cable play and have radio play. i guess they want their cake and eat it too

There's AVR-587 codes in the DB. They have discreet inputs. If you are talking about switching Video separate from the Audio, then no. You may be able to set that up within the Receiver itself, but I doubt it. You'd have to use a Video switcher externally, I think.

I know there are discrete inputs for the denon. For instance you can select the tv input and have tv sound from the denon but have the video playing from the dvd. I have clients who use this during basketball games. they like to hear the announcer for carolina radio but watch the game. I know i can toggle through it but a discrete would be nice.
