I am interested in the mx810 but was wondering whether you could link buttons within activities to send button press and link to a different page on the remote.

I am wanting to use this remote with a htpc so when I click "Video" it changes to the video section on my htpc but on the remote it changes to a "video menu" on the remote. From the "video menu" on the remote I might select "tv" and it changes to the tv section on my htpc and "channel menu" on the remote.

Thankyou,
Terry

I'd look at the 980.

Thanks Bob,

I just had a quick look at the 980 but prefer the look, shape and price of the 810. I think the 810 will be powerful enough for me without the programability I talked about above but it would still be nice to have.

If you're willing to give up the color screen, the MX-900 offers all the flexibility you require. I believe it's only slightly more expensive than the MX-810.

One thing you can do is set up separate activities: HTPC-TV, HTPC-Vid, etc. You should be able to edit the activity macros to get you pretty close to what you're trying to do.

johnny is correct that with extensive manual macro programming and a lot of kludging through you can get close, however the 810 in its current state does not have a way to enable user programmable page flips...you should look at ANY of the other URC remotes as they all do it (all the way down to the mx 350 which I wouldnt recommend). MX900, 850, or preferrably the 980 is the way to go.

I concur with Eastside. The 810 is very limited as I've pushed it already. I too prefer the look of the 810, but the 980 is a must for true custom programming.
