Just bought a used MX-3000, d/l'd the software, but I can't get the unit to sync with my PC. Microsoft Active Sync installed, but every time I plug the USB cable in, the "Found New Hardware" box comes up and tries to install URC USB Sync MX, but fails to install correctly. Any way to work around this??

Try to manually point the “new hardware” wizard to the drivers that came with the software. This should fix this for you.

This just happened to me today. I went into the 'Program Files' folder, then 'Universal Remote Control, Inc.', then 'MX3000 editor', then 'USB'....
I first opened 'Inst USB'. This did not fix the issue. I then opened 'MSASYNC'. This installed Microsoft Sync and everything worked after that. I had already installed a different Microsoft Sync but it didn't work until I installed the one in the MX3000 - USB folder.
