I have an MX-900 that I bought from Surf Remote and installed myself. A basic system. One problem we sometimes have is that because the AVR is off to the side of the rest of the equipment, some of the signals don't get received. Would something like the MRF-260 solve this? If so, do you have to connect the MRF-260 to the AVR via an IR blaster (or some other wire) or is the signal sent wirelessly (I am hoping to avoid more wires). Thanks in advance for any assistance or other suggestions that may work better.

The MRF-260 can control a component either by a wired emitter that runs from the MRF to the component, where it sticks over the component's IR receiving eye, or you can place the MRF somewhere where it has a line of sight to the component(s) and use its front blaster to send IR to the component. If the component has an IR control jack, you can also control it by directly plugging in a cable from the MRF to the component.

Thanks Mike. My AVR is a Pioneer VSX-1016TXV-K. It has SR CONTROL jacks that the manual says are used to link components together so that you can use just the remote sensor of one component to control all your equipment from a single IR remote sensor. Do you think this would work via direct plug with the MRF-260?
