Hello gurus,

I found these printed ir codes for a Yamaha RS-KX1 Remote that is supposed to work with my Yamaha KX-W492 cassette deck.
I'd really like to put these to use in my MX-850. I've searched and tried the ProntoEdit but no luck.

Can anyone recognize the format? of these codes and help me out with using them?

You need to convert these to Pronto hex form. Search the "Discrete Hunter" forum for how to do this. You might also check and see if someone's already created a file in a useable format in the "Files" section of this site.

What is this "cassette deck" you speak of? Is it anything like those CD player thingys people used back in the day?

Try this from the Pronto files:

It's one model # off but I'll bet it's the same. Save the file then open it from your Universal Browser in the MX-850 Editor and drag your codes over.

BTW, just kidding about the cassette deck.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.
I did try the KX-W392 file but it didn't work.
It only toggled the arrow indicating which transport - but would not play, rewind, etc.
Same thing with all the decks listed in the URC database.

I noticed that the printed code numbers didn't divide equally into groups of four.
I was wondering if that meant anything.
Also I didn't know what to do with the beginning sets of numbers.

(I have a lot of Theatre Pipe Organ concerts on cassettes that I'd like to revisit.
Thats why the interest in the cassette deck ! !)

Any other ideas out there ? Thanks . . . Dave
