I recently setup an MX-900 with MRF260 to control several devices, including a Directv HR20-700 box. I am able to control the HR20, but occassionally the Directv changes channels on its own, sometimes brings up the record banner on its own and am told sometimes locks up. Of course my customer says all this is a result of the new remote. I don't have much experience with the Directv box, but I don't see how the remote could be issuing commands without pressing a button.

Some additional information. The directv had been setup for RF, so I had to reconfigure it for IR. Now the Directv remote no longer works, which the customer is also complaining about. I currently have line 1 from the 260 wired to the IR reader on the Directv and this channel is set for RF only on the MX-900.

The customer is telling me to pull out the MX-900 setup and wants to go back to the Directv remote, so I probably have 1 chance to try and make the URC configuration work. I appreciate any suggestions.

To turn IR back on, on the directv oem remote:

1. sat device
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9 6 1
4. press CH DOWN

Thanks Edmund, but are you telling me to give up on the MX-900?

Have dozens of MX-900 setup with DTV. Never saw this problem. First guess is that there is a neighbor with a URC remote with their basestation set at the same channel. Change the channel to one of the letter ones, as most installers don't go that high and use more common ones like 1, 2, 3.

Greg, thanks for your input. I will give another channel a try. That sounds like a good idea. Also, IR blaster is currently set to on. I have emitters going to all the devices, except the TV. Is it better to turn the blaster off or do you use this more on a case by case basis?

Anything else to look out for? They also have a wireless router, but I think that frequency is not close to the range the basestation uses. When I checked the unit at channel 0, I saw no interference.
