first of all im using the mx-3000 editor that came with the product.

I have a mx-3000 a local store is letting me demo for a week to see if I want to purchase one. im starting from scratch with a design i made for it, I added a device from the menu, then i added a button onto the screen. when i go to Program>Pre-programmed IR database and select my correct product, then select Save All it says "0 of 53 ir codes saved" or something like that.
The weird thing is it works just fine when i start a new file using the programs default template. when using their default template that starts out with 12 devices it the preprogrammed codes will all save. But I would like to start from scratch and still be able to save the codes. Is there something I need to do first in order for the program to let me add the ir codes.
I hope that makes sense =)

Thanks

The default templates all have IR IDs and you can see IR ID in the test window but you cannot change it. If you would like to be able to easily add the code it is simpler to start with one of the templates and replace the graphics for buttons. That way the IR ID stays the same and anytime you change that device in the future it will accept the proper code.

Just drag the code from the list to the button you want to place it on. It's a little time consuming, but the only real way to customize the MX3000 to the layout you want.
