I just got a new AT&T U-verse Motorola STB (vip1216). I had to learn all of the buttons on the remote because I didn't find it anywhere. I can get the codes to work via IR, but they do not work through RF. I have tried 2 different IR repeaters running through my MRF-200 without luck.

Program >> RF Control has the cable device set to IR & RF Signal.

Any ideas?

The problem is the ir is to strong for the moto box. A mrf with the ir that you can turn down will fix the problem 90% of the time.

also set it to rf only..... stray IR from the remote itself can interfere as well.

I tried it RF only (that is the setting that I actual want), however, that didn't work. How would I go about turning down the strength?

I think the sentence above has a typo in it... are you saying that a different MRF model is able to turn down the signal, which would solve my problem?

Thanks again.

the frequency of the learned buttons are 36.6, it seems as if I can turn them down in the Learn IR window, what would I turn them down to?

Other devices I'm running are at 38.

I lost my sanity last weekend with this same issue... a Motorola DVR. I was able to get the mx-3000 to work with sending IR commands... but then RF (being fed through a msc-400 was doing nothing with it's IR emitter). I sat around and messed with the strength of the IR output, differnet placement, etc.... still nothing. Long story short, for some reason the IR emitter from URC is not compatible with some Motorola DVR's (and I tried about 10 brand new URC emitters just to be sure). I had a bunch of different brand emitters laying around... I plugged one in that wasnt from URC.... and bam, worked immediately and flawlessly. I think that the IR emitter i used was from a Next Generation Remote Extender. Hope it helps :)
